This project constitutes an exploration of materiality, texture, and the presence of paintings as objects. Working with recycled material, fabrics, and unstretched canvas I seek to experience the process of painting as an extrapolation of intuitive thinking and the accumulation of experiences. There is also a seeking for understanding and translation through the emphasis on the relationships between color and form, background and foreground, and how these dynamics are built, broken, and transformed.
